Alexa & Katie (Netflix Series) – Trailer Song

Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming series Alexa & Katie, about two best friends on their first year of high school who share a secret.

The new show, created by Heather Wordham, revolves around the two teenage girls, who have been best friends since they were kids, as they start their freshman year of high school and deal with a secret: Alexa is battling cancer. The cast ensemble includes Disney XD star Paris Berelc as Alexa and newcomer Isabel May as Katie, Tiffani Thiessen, Jack Griffo, newcomer Kerri Medders, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, Finn Carr, Emery Kelly, and others.

The trailer features scenes revealing that, despite the fact she is undergoing cancer treatment, Alexa doesn’t lose her optimism, having Katie by her side. “Everybody will know me as the sick girl and I’m so much more than that.” Alexa tells Katie in one of the scenes, which also reveals that the latter, who’s asking in response “What if you’re not the only one they’re noticing?”, starts buzzing her long hair. “There are certain times in your life that you really need a friend. But sometimes you get something even better. You get a Katie.” a line is heard as the trailer comes to its end.

Serving as the soundtrack is the 2015 single “Wild Things” by Canadian singer Alessia Cara, from her debut studio album, “Know-It-All”.

The first season of the series, consisting of thirteen episodes, will launch on the streaming service on March 23.
