Audi UK showcases the all-new R8 in an advert aimed at highlighting that it’s a pleasure to follow this sports car.
The spot, created by BBH London, opens with a variety of people in different types of vehicles looking delighted in front of them. As the camera pans out, it turns out that all of them – from family cars to cabs to fire trucks, garbage trucks, school buses, icea cream trucks, wedding cars and more, are following the new Audi R8. “The new Audi R8. A pleasure to follow” an onscreen line reads at the end of the advert.
Serving as soundtrack is a cover of the iconic 1970 hit “(They Long To Be) Close To You” by American pop duo The Carpenters, performed by Reneé Dominique.
The Audi R8 range includes the R8 Coupe (from £128,200), described as “2-door high-performance Audi Sport coupé with a 5.2 litre V10 engine, Audi Virtual Cockpit, dual-branch oval tailpipes and parking system plus,” and the R8 Spyder (from £136,890), described as “the supercar that combines the breathtaking performance of the R8 with the open-top thrill of a convertible”.
