Emilia Clarke shows off her singing skills in a new ad for Dolce & Gabanna, promoting the new feminine fragrance The Only One. The Game of Thrones acclaimed actress is introduced as “The Only One” in the luxury label’s latest instalment in the campaign dedicated to The One range of fragrances.
The 60-second spot, directed by Italian filmmaker Matteo Garrone, features Emilia Clarke in an authentic trattoria in Rome, revealing her talent as a singer. Together with friends and local musicians, she sings the 1952 pop song “Quando, Quando, Quando” and is soon cheered on by the audience.
The Only One fragrance, a new variation on the theme of The One, the oriental-floral original from 2006, is showcased at the end of the film.
Launched at the end of August, The Only One, featuring notes of bergamot, violet, coffee, iris, patchouli and vanilla, is described as a fragrance that “captures the essence of sophisticated and hypnotizing feminity”.
Emilia Clarke, who has joined the Dolce & Gabbana family as the new ambassador of The One for Women, starred in another Dolce & Gabbana commercial, in which she interacts with real people from the Italian city of Naples, on the streets. Set to the rhythms of the 1965 Italian hit “Tu vuò fa’ l’americano” (“You want to be an American”), she is also seen laughing, dancing, eating spaghetti and having fun in the company of locals. Her Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harrington has also joined the Dolce & Gabbana family, as the face of The One for Men. Praised for his “charismatic personality”, “playful charm, the self-confidence and the inborn appeal of the Dolce&Gabbana man”, Harrington was enlisted to star in a spot that features him in an open-air market on the streets of Naples, in Italy, enjoying a few moments in the company of local people, just like Clarke.
