A first trailer tease has been released for the upcoming sci-fi comedy Downsizing, directed by Academy Award winner Alexander Payne (director of The Descendants and Sideways).
Written by Payne in collaboration with Jim Taylor, the film is set in a world where scientists can shrink humans to five inches tall as a solution to over-population and follows Paul and his wife, Aubrey, as they decide to get small and move to a new downsized community. This choice proves to be the trigger for a series of life-changing adventures.
Downsizing, starring Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, Jason Sudeikis, and Kristen Wiig, is set to be released this winter, on December 9.
The teaser launched by Paramount Pictures, featuring glimpses of the five actors, reveals that the full trailer will be released on September 12th.
The song playing in the background is the Nirobi Edit of the 1981 single “Once In A Lifetime” by American new wave band Talking Heads, appearing on their fourth studio album, 1980’s “Remain in Light”.
