H&M is calling all pattern lovers, highlighting, in a new commercial, that checks are set to take over their wardrobe the coming months.
The 30-second spot, part of the retailer’s “Dare to be Square” campaign, features a young woman rocking various outfits with check print. One of them consists in a black/white checked off-the-shoulder gingham blouse in woven fabric with elastication at the top and 3/4-length sleeves with elastication at the cuffs, with decorative buttons down the front, an elasticated seam at the waist and frill trim at the hem, paired with a matching mini skirt and a colour-blocked, ’90s-inspired sports jacket. Other styles include a round-necked T-shirt in soft, printed cotton jersey, featuring the NYC text on a white, red and dark blue strip, trousers in an airy weave with an elasticated waist, side pockets and straight, wide legs, a cropped top in lightweight, printed sweatshirt fabric with dropped shoulders and long sleeves with ribbed cuffs, a short white/black checked dress in an airy viscose weave with a V-neck and buttons down the front, short, frill-trimmed sleeves, a tapered waist and a gently flared skirt.
The song used in the ad is the 2017 single “Bring Me The Moon” by Magic & Naked, from their second album, “Human Expression”.
