Universal Pictures has released the red band trailer for the upcoming comedy film Blockers, set to be released on April 6, 2018.
The film, which marks the directorial debut of Kay Cannon (known for her writing credits on the Pitch Perfect franchise), follows three parents (played by Leslie Mann, John Cena and Ike Barinholtz) on a covert one-night operation to stop their daughters from losing their virginity.
The trailer reveals that the trio, who become friends when their kids start the elementary school, discover the sex pact made by their teenage girls through emojis and decide to “cock block those motherfuckers” on their prom night. John Cena, telling to a teenage boy at a party that he would do anything for his daughter, is seen participating at a “little chugging contest” which gets interrupted by the police, so he is forced to run away with the hose at his butt.
The songs used in the red band trailer are the 1993 hit single “I’d Do Anything for Love” by Meat Loaf, included on the band’s sixth studio album, “Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell”, and the 2017 single “Rebel Chick” by Olly Anna.
