Gatorade has released a new commercial to promote Serena Williams’ Gx collaboration bottle.
Titled “Love Means Everything” and narrated by BeyoncĂ©, the 60-second spot is a celebration of the tennis champion’s career and aims to highlight the amazing impact she had on young women of color, who have been inspired by Serena’s self-belief and realized they can do anything if they have self-love.
“When the world writes her down in history, we’ll begin where she started: at love. A love that started a movement. A movement to always love exactly who you are, to be so in love with your identity that your very essence cannot be contained, to love the sound of your own voice and the way you move, to cherish every muscle and every curve your body exibits, to feel like a queen unapologetically with the crown indefinitely, to always love being a proud Black woman, a parent, a dreamer. To always love being you, the whole you, the real you, to always love you,” the award-winning singer says throughout the commercial, which includes footage of Serena juxtaposed with footage of various other women doing all kinds of sports and pushing their own limits.
The end of the video sees the same young girl from the opening of the video watching Serena on TV as she celebrates a victory on court and carries lots of flowers in her arms. The tagline “Love Means Everything” then appears on the screen.
The soundtrack is provided by an original song from Heavy Duty Projects.
The Serena Gx Bottle is available in four color options – Yellow, Grey, Neon Pink and Neon Blue.
