A second trailer for the upcoming comedy drama Ingrid Goes West, starring Aubrey Plaza, has been released.
The film directed by Matt Spicer, which won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at Sundance Film Festival, follows Ingrid (Aubrey Plaza), a social media stalker who moves to LA to befriend Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen), an Instagram star whose lifestyle becomes her latest obsession. The cast includes also O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Wyatt Russell, Billy Magnussen, Pom Klementieff, and others.
Set to the rhythms of the 2015 song “Dumb” by electro-pop duo KOPPS, the trailer reveals some of the things Ingrid is capable of, such as paying a random teenager $200 to punch her in the face, showing up at a wedding and spraying the bride in the eyes for having not invited her, taking drugs with Taylor and almost having themselves killed in a car accident, taking selfies of her while Taylor is sleeping and keeping all kind of notes in her phone regarding Taylor’s preferences, having a masked guy scaring Taylor’s brother “a little bit” when the latter finds out the truth about her, scratching cars, spying people, and more. “I’m not a psychopath. I just want to be her friend”. – Plaza’s character says in one of the scenes.
Ingrid Goes West is set to be released this summer, on August 11.
