A24 has released the trailer for the upcoming horror movie Saint Maud, which marks the debut film of writer/director Rose Glass.
The movie, described as “a chilling and boldly original vision of faith, madness, and salvation in a fallen world,” revolves around Maud (Morfydd Clark), an in-home hospice nurse obsessed with salvation for her dying patient’s soul.
According to the official synopsis, “sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy
calling”.
The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Lilly Frazer, Lily Knight, Marcus Hutton, Turlough Convery, and Rosie Sansom.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at the wicked things Maud ends up doing in her attempt to save her patient’s soul.
There are scenes that do not reveal too much, though, leaving room for imagination.
Serving as soundtrack is Billie Eilish’s 2019 single “All The Good Girls Go to Hell,” from her debut studio album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”
Saint Maud premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year, in September, and will open in theaters March 27, 2020.
