Every year, Santa has a race against time to deliver Christmas gifts to every corner of the world. But do you have any idea how he manages it? Alfa Romeo tells us in its holiday commercial.
The spot opens with Santa sleeping in his chair, by the chimney, the night of Christmas Eve, while someone has done the work for him. The next morning, a radio broadcaster announces that children all over the world have received presents during the night and that, once again, Santa has done a magnificent job. As the ad goes on, it turns out that Alfa Romeo racing driver Kimi Räikkönen was the one delivering gifts to kids. “This is the last time,” Räikkönen tells Santa as he hands him the car keys and takes off a red hat.
“Merry Christmas from Alfa Romeo” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which is scored by the classic Christmas carol “Jingle Bells”.
Earlier this year, the Italian automaker announced that Kimi Räikkönen and his wife, Minttu Räikkönen, would co-star in a series of five adverts created to mark the launch of the Stelvio and Giulia Model Year 2020.
