Walgreens has released its Red Nose Day commercial, highlighting that, when you buy an Everyday Hero Red Nose, you help keep children in need safe, healthy and educated.

The 30-second spot informs that “1 in 5 children in the U.S. lives in poverty. But with your help, they won’t have to. Because when you buy a Red Nose at Walgreens, you can help a child live a healthier life.” The pharmacy store chain stated that, for every Red Nose sold between April 22nd and June 1st, 2019, it will donate $1.30 each to Comic Relief Inc.’s Red Nose Day Fund, which helps lift children out of poverty in the US and internationally.

The song used in the ad is the 2017 single “On My Side” by Sydney-based artist Gordi, from her debut album, “Reservoir”.

You can purchase your Red Nose in store exclusively at a Walgreens or Duane Reade near you between April 22-June 1, or purchase in bulk online. Red Noses are available in a box of 40 or a box of 240 at Walgreens’ website. Red Noses are sold for $2 each, with $1.30 being contributed to the Red Nose Day Fund. The remaining amount contributes to the cost of a Red Nose—Walgreens does not make a profit from Red Nose sales. No portion of the purchase is tax deductible.

Those willing to help can also purchase items and clip coupons from these proud supporters of Red Nose Day, including Cottonelle, Fanta, Duracell, Listerine, Lay’s, M&M’s, Orbit, Oreo, Neutrogena, Secret, Skittles, and many more.

Red Nose Day is a campaign aimed at raising money and awareness to help keep children in need safe, healthy and educated in America and around the world. This year, Red Nose Day returns on Thursday, May 23. Millions of Americans, celebrities and businesses are expected to come together wearing their Red Noses – sold exclusively at Walgreens – to fundraise, donate and tune in for a special night of programming on NBC.

It its first four years, this campaign has raised nearly $150 million and positively impacted the lives of over 16 million children.
