ITV has released the trailer for its brand new series Cannonball, set to premiere this Saturday (September 2nd), at 7pm.
The promo features the gameshow’s host, legendary cricketer and broadcaster Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, saying that “It’s fast, it’s wild and it’s wet” while images of contestants facing some inflatable obstacles in a custom-built water park, are shown.
Each week, 24 contestants of all ages will have their speed, accuracy, height and distance tested through a series of water based challenges. The challengers will rotate around the Cannonball course as they battle to be the winner of each game, gaining medals for their achievement. The final, that will imply a giant swing and launches in “cannonball-style” at a huge moving target, will see going head to head the three people with the most medals.
The pool side commentators are singer Frankie Bridge, comedian Ryan Hand, and presenters Radzi Chinyanganya and Maya Jama.
The song used in the promo is the popular country folk song “Cotton-Eyed Joe” by Swedish Eurodance group Rednex, from their debut studio album, “Sex & Violins”, released in 1995.
