Sonic The Hedgehog (2019 Movie Trailer)

The trailer for the upcoming live-action adventure comedy Sonic The Hedgehog, based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog, has been released.

According to the official synopsis, the film “follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination”.

The film, from producers of Fast and Furious, also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
The trailer features the encounter between Sonic and Marsden’s character, as well as Jim Carrey’s character, Dr. Robotnik, who makes an appearance at a camp, following an energy surge that knocked out power across the entire Pacific Northwest.

The song used in the trailer is the 1995 hit single “Gangsta’s Paradise” by American rapper Coolio, featuring singer L.V., from Coolio’s second studio album of the same name.

Sonic The Hedgehog hits theaters this fall, on November 7.
