A24 has released the official trailer for “A Different Man” the psychological thriller that premiered at Sundance on January 21, 2024
Aspiring actor Edward (played by Sebastian Stan), a man with neurofibromatosis, undergoes a radical medical procedure to transform his appearance. However, his new face soon becomes a nightmare. He loses the role he was destined for and becomes obsessed with reclaiming what he has lost.
“My face has fallen off in clumps” Edward is heard saying in the trailer.
Renate Reinsve, Adam Pearson, C. Mason Wells, Michael Shannon, Patrick Wang and Charlie Korsmo also star in the movie.
The song playing in the trailer is “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down” by the American rock band LCD Soundsystem. It is the closing track on their second studio album, Sound of Silver, which was released in 2007.
LCD Soundsystem is an American rock band fronted by James Murphy, known for their eclectic blend of punk rock, electronic, and dance music.
Written and directed by Aaron Schimberg, “A Different Man” is scheduled for release in the United States on September 20, 2024.
