Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming upcoming queer teen drama Everything Now, from writer and creator Ripley Parker, which focuses “on mental health issues faced by many British teenagers, particularly those surrounding food and body image.”
According to the official synopsis, the British series revolves around a 16-year-old called Mia (Sophie Wilde), who “returns home after a lengthy recovery from an eating disorder” and “is thrust back into the chaotic world of sixth form only to find that her friends have moved on with teen life without her”.
Along with an ever-evolving bucket list, three best mates and a major new crush, Mia throws herself headfirst into a world of dating, parties and first kisses, soon discovering that not everything in life can be planned for,” the synopsis also reads.
The cast includes Vivienne Acheampong as Mia’s mother, Viv, Stephen Fry as Mia’s doctor, Dr. Nell, Lauryn Ajufo, Harry Cadby, Noah Thomas, Sam Reuben, Niamh McCormack, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Robert Akodoto and Alex Hassell.
The trailer features the 2021 single “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” by British singer-songwriter Joy Crookes, from her debut studio album, “Skin”. Season 1 of Everything Now will be available for streaming on Netflix this fall, October 5.
