Suburbicon (2017 Movie) – Trailer Song

Suburbicon (2017 Movie) - Matt Damon

Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for Suburbicon, a crime comedy directed by George Clooney and starring Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac.

Set in the summer of 1979, in a seemingly peaceful neighborhood called Suburbicon, “filled with the promise of prosperity for all”, which gives the impression of being a perfect place to raise a family, the film follows Gardner Lodge (Damon), a husband and father who embarks on a mission of revenge after his wife is killed in their home by some men working for the mob. Described as “a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices”, the film shows how Lodge navigates the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit and violence.

The trailer features Damon’s character burrying his wife and bringing in aunt Marjorie, played by Julianne Moore, to stay with his son. When one of the criminals returns to his house set out to “take care” of his son, he starts fighting back and kills him. Afterwards, he sits at the table with the kid and is having a sandwich despite being covered in blood. He then decides to make what’s best for the family: anihilating the mobsters. When one of the mobsters comes to his house and threatens him that he could have him killed in no time, Lodge replies: “I could kill you, too”, which makes his interlocutor laugh while sipping from a coffee.

The song used in the trailer is “Nobody Speak” by American music producer DJ Shadow, featuring rap verses from rap duo Run the Jewels, and included on Shadow’s fifth studio album,”The Mountain Will Fall”, released in 2016.

Suburbicon is scheduled to be screened at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, in September, and to be released in the US theaters on October 27th.
