Walkers Christmas TV Advert - Feat. Young Man at Party with Floating Emoji Head

Walkers tackles mental health in its Christmas advert, this year. The crisps brand has teamed up with Comic Relief for its new “It Feels Good to Share” campaign, aimed at getting people talk about their mental health this festive season.

Created by VCCP, the spot is based on a research showing that 52% of the UK public feel additional pressure to be happy and pretend everything is OK at Christmas, and features a young man attending a home party on Christmas Eve night. Accompanied by a floating emoji head that shows his true feelings every time he interacts with someone, the man doesn’t seem to be in a very good mood. Luckily, he gets to open up and share how he really feels when he meets an old friend, in the kitchen. “In this jumper you can’t be fine,” his fellow jokes, asking then how he really feels. Grabbing a pack of Walkers, he starts talking to his friend.

“This Christmas let’s talk more. Because it feels good to share. Not just your crispts,” the voiceover says at the end of the advert, mentioning that Walkers has donated 2 million to Comic Relief to support mental wellbeing programmes.
