Freeform has released the official trailers for its upcoming series, set to debut early 2018, and the one for Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is among them.
The TV show, created by Joe Pokaski based on the the Marvel Comics characters of the same name, tells the story of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from different backgrounds, who discover they have superpowers that are mysteriously linked to one another. While Tandy can emit light daggers, becoming Dagger, Tyrone has the power to engulf others in darkness, dubbing himself Cloak. Soon, they find themselves falling for each other, which brings them even more challenges to face. One thing is sure: when they are together, their powers work better.
The trailer, set to the rhythms of “Easier” by alternative indie band Mansionair, features Aubrey Joseph as Cloak and Olivia Holt as Dagger as they meet, as runaways, in New York City, how they escape from the criminal chemist Simon Marshall, who tests a new type of drug on runaway teens, and how they discover their powers.
Cloak & Dagger, starring also Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. Evermore, will include 10 one-hour episodes.
