HBO Max Movies: Locked Down - Trailer Actress Anne Hathaway

HBO Max has released the trailer for its upcoming heist movie Locked Down, starring Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The movie, written by Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders and Taboo, and directed by “The Bourne Identity” director Doug Liman, revolves around Linda (Hathaway) and Paxton (Ejiofor), a couple who decide to separate but find themselves stuck at home in a mandatory lockdown. According to the official synopsis, “Co-habitation is proving to be a challenge, but fueled by poetry and copious amounts of wine, it will bring them closer together in the most surprising way”.

The cast also includes Stephen Merchant, Mindy Kaling, Lucy Boynton, Dulé Hill, Jazmyn Simon, Ben Stiller and Ben Kingsley.

The trailer opens with Ejiofor’s character, who’s living with his Linda in London, which is in total lockdown, telling their friends during a video call that they are all locked in “this psychological prison of burning alone-ness.” They were about to separate, but now they are forced to live together for two weeks. The trailer also reveals that the couple decide to commit a heist at Harrod’s. “Live wild or die, Linda!” Paxton tells her in his attempt of convincing her to steal a diamond worth millions of pounds.

“Since lockdown, I’m looking back on myself like ‘That was then and this is now,” Anne Hathaway’s character says in one of the scenes.

The songs used in the trailer are the 2016 single “Shaky Ground” by French & American duo Freedom Fry (it is available for purchase on Amazon for $0.99) and a remix of the iconic “Feelin’ Good” by David Darmel.

Locked Down will begin streaming on HBO Max on January 14.
