Burger King has dropped a new installment in its “You Rule” campaign. This time, the fast-food chain promotes its Spicy Chicken Fries in an original song, set to the tune of the brand’s iconic “Have it Your Way” jingle, first introduced in the 1970s.
“Spicy Chicken Fries, Chicken Fries with heat
Appetizer, Mini Meal, a spicy treat
Eat them anytime cause you’re royalty
The box with the sauce
That’s pretty neat.
BK, have it your way,
You rule!” – the voiceover sings in the 15-second spot, which features the Spicy Chicken Fries. These white meat chicken fries, taken up a notch with spicy flavor and heat added to the breading, were first launched in 2005, but the chain stopped offering them in 2012. In 2014, the item returned to the menu for a limited time, following a fan-driven campaign, and was permanently reinstated in 2015, being offered, since then, in different variations.
The menu item will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants, through May 14.
The fast-food chain’s “You Rule” campaign, described as “a play on the QSR chain’s mascot and famous paper crowns in an effort to deliver the message that Burger King guests are royalty”, was launched in October 2022 and includes multiple other commercials, promoting various other menu items, such as the cheesy BK Melts trio, consisting of the Classic Melt, the Spicy Melt, and the Bacon Melt, the BK Stackers, the International Original Chicken Sandwich range, the $5 Your Way Meal, and the “2 Meals For $5.99 Each” deal.
