ITV has launched a new brand campaign, called “Drama vs Reality”, to highlight the drama and reality shows available on ITV Hub.
The series of ads features stars from drama and reality TV fighting for the public’s attention and stopping at nothing to get it. The latest video, directed by Tom Hooper, sees Grace actor Richie Campbell under the unexpected attack of First Time Mum reality star Ferne McCann. While he’s having an important phone call on set, Ferne shows up in a hot pink jumpsuit, targeting him with a M50 machine gun from a military helicopter. After screaming a battle cry, she opens fire on Richie and does everything she can to take him out. Richie, on the other hand, does his best to escape Ferne’s fire, while trying to not hang up because the call is about an upcoming role for a new drama series.
“Drama vs. Reality The fight for your attention starts here” onscreen lines read at the end of the 2-minute film, which sees Richie remaining alive and Ferne giving up the fight because she runs out of bullets.
The first installments in the “Drama vs. Reality” series featured McDonald and Dodds star Jason Watkins trying to poison Love Island star Kem Cetinay and Innocent actress Katherine Kelly kidnapping both TOWIE’s Pete Wicks and Bobby Norris in her kitchen cupboard.
