Publix invites you to share the joy this holiday season and give others a reason to believe in the magic of the season in its Christmas commercial.
The spot features a boy who grabs several candy canes from a bowl and rushes outside, to share them with neighbors. He heads to their front doors and hangs them to Christmas decorations placed on the doors.
“Give a little sweetness. Give someone a reason to believe.” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial.
Earlier this year, the employee-owned supermarket chain impressed audiences with its Thanksgiving ad, titled “A Recipe for What Matters”. The spot focuses on the bond between a mother and her daughter and shows the two preparing Thanksgiving meals in their respective kitchens, chatting and laughing easily, despite the presumable miles between them. As the ad comes to a close, the woman tells her daughter “It’s a little quiet, just me and Dad… we miss you.” After hanging up the call, the older couple is shown again, sitting at their Thanksgiving table alone. When the father rhetorically asks “Hasn’t she made that stuffing like a million times before?”, the mom smiles to him, while the daughter is shown touching the worn, handwritten recipe card back in her bustling kitchen.
