Dr Pepper continues its fifth season of Fansville with a new installment.
Titled “The Wave”, the spot opens with a sideline reporter named Fannah Fantana announcing that a category five wave has broken containment from the stadium and it’s heading straight for Fansville. The following scenes feature football fans living in Fansville who realize that “The Wave” is coming, while the dramatic voiceover declares that “something is coming”. “Wave? What is this? The ’80s?” the town’s sheriff, played by Brian Bosworth, is shown asking, after looking in the distance through binoculars.
Soon, all the inhabitants are overwhelmed by the wave, which – as it soon turns out – makes everyone cheer.
The end of the commercial sees the sheriff closing the doors of a warehouse and asking someone to make sure there’s Dr Pepper in there.
“Next season, prepare to cheer,” the voiceover says, while the sheriff is also featured cheering.
Eventually, the narrator adds the brand’s tagline, “The one fans deserve”, with the Dr Pepper varieties – Original and Diet – showcased on the screen.
The fifth season of Fansville, with Sean Phillips serving as voiceover, also features Kate French as CJ’s Mom, Natasha Marc as Natalie, Nick Ballard as State Fan, and Alabama QB Bryce Young.
