A24 has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming drama movie “Parthenope”, produced and directed by Paolo Sorrentino.
Born in the sea of Naples, Parthenope (played by Celeste Dalla Porta) spends the long summers of her youth searching for happiness, falling deeply in love with her city and the unforgettable characters that shape her world.
“Maybe it was marvellous being young.” the older Parthenope, played by Stefania Sandrelli, is heard saying in the trailer.
The ensemble cast includes Gary Oldman, Silvio Orlando, Luisa Ranieri, Isabella Ferrari, Paola Calliari, and many more.
In Greek mythology, Parthenope is one of the Sirens mythical beings who used their enchanting music and voices to lure sailors to their doom. Legend links her to Naples (Italy), which was initially named Parthenope in her honor, reflecting the region’s Greek heritage and mythological roots.
The song playing in the trailer is “A Gira” by Trio Ternura.
