Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the second season of its mega-hit survival drama “Alice in Borderland”, which follows a group of friends who are transported to a parallel dimension called the Borderlands and who must compete in a series of deadly games to get out alive.
Directed by Shinsuke Sato, the long-awaited continuation of the popular sci-fi Japanese series, based on the manga of the same name by Haro Aso, features Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) trying to unravel the mysteries of Borderland to return to the real world. The official synopsis reveals that “In a place they believe holds the key to uncovering these mysteries, they meet allies, enemies, and the mastermind behind all of the games. Arisu and the others pit themselves against games of a scale and difficulty that exceed the first season.” “The remaining games are only the Jack, Queen, and King cards, but will they be able to collect them all and return to the real world?” the synopsis also reads.
The cast also includes Nijiro Murakami, Ayaka Miyoshi, Dori Sakurada, Aya Asahina, Yuri Tsunematsu, Yutaro Watanabe, Yuki Morinaga, Keita Machida, Hayato Isomura, Kai Inowaki, Katsuya Maikuma, Honami Sato, Chihiro Yamamoto, Nobuaki Kaneko, Tsuyoshi Abe, Sho Aoyagi, Riisa Naka, and Tomohisa Yamashita.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at the challenges Arisu and Usagi will have to face in the upcoming season and informs that the series will be available for streaming on Netflix December 22.
