SEAT encourages people to stay home however they can in its latest commercial, which also aims to inspire them to be united in the midst of the current coronavirus crisis and uses the hashtag #WeNotMe.
The spot includes footage from the automaker’s 2019 holiday ad, which features two neighbor kids – a young girl and a young boy, who become best friends and communicate through the Morse code every night, in the dark, with their lanterns.
Described as “a story that celebrates togetherness and true friendship,” the film subsequently showed how the girl
gathered everyone in the community to wish her friend “Happy Holidays” in Morse code while he was on a plane, flying to his new home. The ad also highlighted that “Together, great things can happen”.
This time, SEAT delivers the message “Stay in touch, however you can. But stay safe. And when the time comes, we’ll get you moving again.” while in the background an emotional song, performed by a female singer, plays.
The Spanish automaker has opted, thus, for not promoting its offers or announcing other news, like other car manufacturers have done recently. JEEP, for instance, announced in a recent ad that they are offering payment assistance, 24/7 support, and the option to shop at jeep dot com, and that they are also offering 0% financing for 84 months with no monthly payments for 90 days (for select 2020 models) “because better days are just down the road”.
