Splitting Up Together returns to ABC with its second season and new challenges for Lena (Jenna Fischer) and Martin (Oliver Hudson), the married couple who decided to get separated but still live together.
The show, developed by Emily Kapnek, revolves around the relationship between Lena and Martin, whose marriage turns out to be reignited by their divorce. The couple has three children who live in the house with one parent on alternating weeks, while the other parent stays in the garage apartment in the back of the house and is free to date, with no responsibilities in the house or for the children.
The cast also includes Bobby Lee, Diane Farr, Lindsay Price, Olivia Keville, Van Crosby, and Sander Thomas.
The trailer, set to the 2018 track “3 One Oh – Come Out And Play” by LA-based record producer, songwriter, recording artist Rick Seibold, features Lena and Martin going on the honeymoon they didn’t go to after getting married.
Season 2 of Splitting Up Together premieres on Tuesday, October 16, at 9:30pm.
ABC has announced other season premieres for October 16: The Conners will have its premiere at 8pm, The Kids Are Alright at 8:30pm, season 5 of black-ish will premiere at 9:00pm and, immediately after Splitting Up, at 10:00pm, The Rookie series premiere.
