Rubicon has released a hilarious new ad to promote its fruit flavoured spring water drink with fruit juice.
The animated spot, part of the brand’s “Water’s Had A Fruity Fling” campaign, features Mrs. Spring Water, her husband and her four kids on an exotic beach, enjoying the sun and the view. When she notices four fruits – Mango, Orange, Strawberry and Kiwi – playing volleyball nearby, she can’t help but stare at their toned bodies (they are portrayed as hunks), and then getting closer to them, which makes her kids realize their father is not their real father. “Water’s Had A Fruity Fling!” the voiceover says at the end of the spot, while Mr. Spring Water falls on his back when his beach chair breaks due to his weight.
The song playing in the background is the 1982 single “Annie, I’m Not Your Daddy” by the American musical group Kid Creole & The Coconuts, from their third album, “Tropical Gangsters”. The track reached a peak of no. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and no. 18 on the U.S. Club Play Chart.
Rubicon’s Spring is available in four fruity flavour variants – Strawberry Kiwi, Lemon Lime, Orange Mango, and Black Cherry Raspberry – and contains 15 calories or less per bottle.
