Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy drama film from writer/director Noah Baumbach, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected).
The film, starring Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Elizabeth Marvel, Dustin Hoffman, and Emma Thompson in the leading roles, revolves around a dysfunctional family, The Meyerowitz, who are “forced” to navigate their difficult relationship while getting back together for an event commemorating the father, Harold Meyerowitz, a sculptor.
The teaser, including also reviews praising the director and the actors’ performances, begins with Sandler’s character, Danny, playing the piano and singing a song he wrote about a guy whose name has never been remembered by Danny’s father. His siblings, played by Stiller and Marvel, as well as their father, played by Hoffman, are shown in various situations, running on the hallway of a hospital, Stiller punching his brother, and Hoffman breaking a cue. The cast also includes Candice Bergen, Rebecca Miller, Judd Hirsch, Sigourney Weaver, Adam Driver, and others.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) had its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, in May, and is set to premiere on Netflix and in select theaters October 13.
