Walmart advertises its free same day Pickup service in a new ad, highlighting that, with this option, you can feel the joy of giving and getting.
The 30-second spot features a mother wrapping gifts and putting them under the Christmas tree. With stockings already hung by the fireplace, lots of colorful gift boxes ready to be unwrapped, and all things cleared off the shopping list, the woman decides to order online some gifts for herself, too. Thus, she goes to the Walmart app and buys a Samsung Galaxy Tab and a KitchenAid Deluxe Stand Mixer and chooses to pick them up the same day. On Christmas morning, when everyone rushes in the living room to unwrap their presents, the woman finds something, too: gifts carrying the message “to mom, from mom” that she unwraps with excitement, acting surprised.
“Order online. Free same day Pickup. Light Up Christmas.” onscreen lines read throughout the commercial, which is scored by Rick James’ 1981 single “Give It To Me Baby,” from his fifth album, “Street Songs”.
With Walmart’s App, people can shop the retailer’s products online anytime, anywhere and then choose a convenient pickup time and location near them. Moreover, they can enjoy free same-day pickup when they order before 1pm and then they show up at their preferred location, an employee will load their car in minutes. Walmart’s Store Pickup is valid only for items that have a “pick up” option. Items like perishable products or those containing hazardous materials, any product weighing in excess of 350 pounds, and products sold through a Walmart Marketplace Retailer may not be available for Once chosen the store they’d like to pick up from, customers will receive a confirmation email for their order, as well as a notification once their item is available for pick up. Items that have a “Free Pickup Today” are usually available four hours from the time of purchase. Any Same-Day Pickup order placed after 4:00pm may be available for pick up the next day. Upon arrival at the store’s Services/Pickup desk, customers must provide a valid photo I.D. in order to be able to pick up their package.
