Toyota showcases the 2018 RAV4 Hybrid in a new commercial, presenting it as “a family all-rounder with a spirit of adventure”.
The 40-second spot, aiming to spotlight the SUV’s sleek design, spacious interior and pioneering technology, including All-Wheel Drive with intelligence, begins with a family leaving the city early in the morning, with the two kids sleeping in the back seat, for an adventure in the middle of nature. “Because early, because weekend, because high up, because skill, effort, because scared and brave, because close, far, further, because bedtime, because lost and found, because muddy, salty, because life… happens outdoors.” – the voiceover says, while on screen two adults are seen riding bikes offroad, a woman is seen rock climbing, a young boy is seen looking at the image of a giant octopus in a book, at night, before going to sleep, and the next day getting into the sea, a father is seen holding his toddler in his arms, wrapped in a blanket, after sunset, a landscape photographer is seen opening the foot-activated power liftgate of her RAV4 to put her camera in there and allow her dog to get in, as well, a woman is seen looking at a map, having Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite available on her RAV4.
The song playing at the end of the commercial is “Beggin'” by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, from the Four Seasons’ New Gold Hits album, released in 1967.
