Netflix has released a teaser for its upcoming original series Disjointed, announcing that it will premiere this summer, on August 25.
Described as “a modern twist on the American Dream”, the new TV show tells the story of the highs, the low, and half-baked drama of a family-run marijuana dispensary. The clip features Kathy Bates, who plays Ruth, an advocate for legalization who’s finally living her dream as the owner of an L.A.-area cannabis dispensary, named “Ruth’s Alternative Caring”, smoking a joint.
The pot-themed comedy series, written and executive produced by Chuck Lorre and David Javerbaum, stars also Chris Redd, Elizabeth Ho, Tone Hell, Dougie Baldwin, Aaron Moten, and Elizabeth Alderfer. The streaming service has ordered twenty episodes of the series.
The song used in the teaser trailer is Jack, I’m Mellow by Trixie Smith.
