Netflix has released the full trailer for the upcoming season of its flagship series Narcos, returning September 1st with new episodes.
The drug cartel drama, which saw Pablo Escobar killed during a rooftop shootout at the end of season two, will focus on the Cali Cartel. According to the official synopsis, this cartel, led by four powerful godfathers, “operates much differently than Escobar’s, preferring to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions out of the headlines.” Holding control over 90 per cent of the world’s cocaine market, the Cali Cartel was named “the most powerful crime syndicate in history” by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The trailer, inviting viewers to witness the rise of a new empire, features Gilberto Rodriguez as the main villain of Narcos season 3 after Pablo Escobar’s death and reveals that, in order to take down the Cali Cartel,”you’d have to be crazy, stupid, brave, and lucky, all at the same time”.
The song used in the trailer is “I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” by Cypress Hill, from his second studio album, “Black Sunday”, released in 1993.
