Volkswagen showcases the all-new 7-seater 2018 Volkswagen Atlas in a new commercial. After the hilarious “Luv Bug” ad, set to Dean Martin’s “The Birds and the Bees” and featuring a family moving through a series of VW vehicles, from the Beetle to the Atlas, after the couple use them as a platform to grow their family, this new ad tugs at the viewers’ heartstrings.
The spot, titled “America”, features the journey of a family across the country and across three generations to fulfill the last wish of a loved one, who passed away.
“My dear family, from the day I arrived I wanted to see this great country. My last wish is for you to do it for me, as a family. Love, grandpa.” – is the message that urges the entire family (grandma, mom, dad, and children) to travel across America and scatter, eventually, his ashes over the ocean. The ad features the family traveling on the Volkswagen Atlas crossover through diverse landscapes and weather conditions, sharing precious moments together and memories along the way, such as how grandma met grandpa.
“Life’s as big as you make it” – says the voiceover at the end, introducing the all-new Volkswagen Atlas, with America’s Best SUV Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty.
The song playing in the ad is America by Simon & Garfunkel.
