Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming original film Message from the King.
Written by Oliver Butcher and directed by Fabrice Du Welz, the thriller follows Jacob King, a young man from Cape Town who arrives in Los Angeles for a week to search for his younger sister, Bianca, after having lost contact with her. Finding out that she has been killed, for the remaining six days of his trip he embarks on the quest to revenge her murder. He infiltrates a sprawling network of lowlifes and elites in the City of Angels and, judging by the scenes revealed in the trailer, manages to scaremonger them. “He’s not going to go away. He’s not going to screw up. He have to deal with him.” – says one of the bad guys about King. “We have no idea what he’s capable of.” – says Luke Evans’ character to Alfred Molina’s character, who seems frightened by the perspective of facing King.
With Chadwick Boseman in the leading role, Message from the King also stars Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans, Natalie Martinez, Tom Felton, Alfred Molina, Jake Weary, Drew Powell, Ava Kolker, Chris Mulkey, Michael Patrick McGill, Jonathan Coyne, and others.
The film, which had its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, will be released by the streaming service this summer, on August 4.
