IHOP promotes its IHOPPY Hour in a new commercial.
The spot opens with several plates and menu items being prepared in an IHOP kitchen for customers and features a diverse cast of people enjoying quality time together at IHOP restaurants, as well as their favorite menu items. Families and friends are shown hanging out together and having fun sharing their food, a young woman is shown sneaking a Mozzarella Stick from her date, who is amused to discover that she likes it so much.
“The price is nice but being together is better” an onscreen line reads throughout the 30-second ad, which ends with the voiceover introducing the IHOPPY HOUR, urging viewers to download the mobile app and join the Rewards Program.
The soundtrack music is a cover of “When You’re Smiling (The Whole World Smiles With You)“, originally performed by Henry Thies and His Hotel Sinton Orchestra (with Vocal Refrain by Don Dewey) and made famous by Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra. This version is performed by a female voice.
IHOPPY Hour, which gives consumers the chance to purchase items from just $6, starts at 3pm and is valid at participating locations.
The chain has also been promoting its Rewards Program, which is an upgraded loyalty program that gives customers the chance to earn PanCoins (digital token that can be used to buy more food) in three different ways – by paying directly from the app via a QR code at their table, entering a code or scanning a bar code on a physical receipt, or placing a to-go or delivery order via the brand’s website or app.
