EDP highlights its longstanding commitment to renewable energies and to the planet in a new multi-media and global campaign, titled “United for a wonderful world”.
Created by Havas and produced by Krypton, the campaign emphasizes the crucial need for increased cooperation in safeguarding our planet and its resources in the face of one of the most pressing challenges of our era: climate change.
The main spot opens with a quote from José Saramago – “You have to leave the island to see the island” – which serves as a poignant reminder that we often take the planet’s sustainability for granted and that we must adopt new perspectives to collectively discover unequivocal solutions for addressing the climate crisis.
Set on the Moon, the film shows six astronauts from different countries contemplating planet Earth and making an ode to the planet to the tune of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World”.
“The energy transition is one of the greatest challenges of all time. United, we can keep this a wonderful world,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial.
EDP is harnessing the power of the wind, the water, and the sun to produce 100% green energy. Its commitment is to become coal fcoal-freeee by 2025, all green by 2030, and net zero by 2040. The success of this path depends, however, on everyone’s commitment, including clients, providers, communities, and policy makers.
