AT&T has released a series of new ads starring its spokeswoman Lily and some guests who will replace her in store. One of the spots features Matthew Stafford stepping in to help Lilly.
The ad opens with Lily telling the Los Angeles Rams quarterback that, when she’s out for March Madness, he will cover phone trades. She then explains that people can get a free Samsung Galaxy S22 when they trade in a Galaxy, any year, any condition. Stafford says he understands and concludes that “you can take your old phone, that you’ve had for 12 years and loved every minute of, and trade it in for something new, that suits your life now.” Lily confirms, but then, when she hears what Stafford adds, namely that you “then enjoy immediate success, even though you’ll never forget your old phone, ever” leaves her confused and speechless, because she doesn’t understand exactly what he is talking about. However, she answers that it’s a great trade” and Stafford argues that it’s “life changing”.
The commercial ends with the voiceover urging viewers to get a free Samsung Galaxy S22 with any Galaxy trade-in, any year, any condition, even in the madness of March. Onscreen lines inform that you can trade-in any Galaxy Note, S or Z series smartphone and buy on a qualifying installment plan with an eligible AT&T unlimited plan (min. $75/month before discounts).
In other commercials, Lily, played by Soviet-born American actress Milana Vayntrub, talks to Kumail Nanjiani, Coach Krzyzewski, who has a job interview with her, and Zooey Deschanel, whom she hires immediately thanks to her quirky charm.
Milana Vayntrub starred in AT&T ads as saleswoman Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and was brought back to the small screen by AT&T last year. She has also had small roles in film and television, including Life Happens, This Is Us, Other Space, and more.
