Last month (in May), Argos challenged Britain to learn to #DrumFromHome and, at the end of the month, it released an ad to show us how those who took up the challenge got on.
The spot, created by The & Partnership, features a diverse cast playing the drums or various household items serving as drums, during the lockdown, such as pots, buckets, and more.
Nandi Bushell, the 10-year-old drumming star from Argos’ 2019 Christmas ad, also makes an appearance.
“Together we’re getting thru this” an onscreen line reads at the end of the 30-second video.
The soundtrack music is the 2001 single “Gotta Get Thru This” by New Zealand born singer Daniel Bedingfield, from his debut studio album of the same name.
Before releasing this advert, the retailer launched four videos that aimed to teach people how to drum. The series provided viewers with basic tips plus a lesson on making a drum kit out of household items.
