Volkswagen showcses the ID.3, which extends the automaker’s offering as the first model of a completely new generation of pure electric vehicles, in a new commercial.
The spot, released with the tagline “Now You Can,” shines a light on some of the most important features, such as individual ambient light, welcome lights, augmented-reality-head-up-display, and the capability to go up to 550 km in one charge. A diverse cast also take centre stage as they’re driving the ID.3 through the city streets or out of the city or use some of its features, like the welcome lights, to play bascketball at night, for instance.
The commercial, scored by a catchy dance tune, show a near-production prototype with optional equipment of the brand’s affordable long-range electric car. Unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, the hatchback will come in three variants that offer between roughly 205 and 340 miles of range. The base model of the ID.3, which has a 45kWh battery and offers 330 kilometers (205 miles) of range, has an “under €30,000” price tag (this means about $33,180).
In the past few months, the German automaker has been promoting the newest members of the ID. lineup, including the
exclusive special edition ID.3 1ST, which “marks the beginning of a new era in electromobility,” the all-electric ID.
ROOMZZ SUV, a zero-emission concept car of the five-metre class, the ID. BUGGY, the modern version of the iconic Minibus, and more. The VW ID lineup also includes the Crozz (a self-driving crossover SUV), Vizzion (a 400-mile range, 75-kWh motor sedan), the Buzz and the Buzz Cargo (a pair of microbus concepts).
Volkswagen, that declared its commitment to achieving global carbon neutrality across its fleet, production, and administration by 2050, to reducing its global carbon footprint by 30% by 2025, and to being carbon neutral globally by 2050, announced the arrival of 70 new electric vehicles to market around the world.
