
Asda has unveiled its new Halloween campaign, “The Big Freakend”, from agency Havas London.
The spot, which announces that the Bif Freakend is taking place between October 29th and October 31st, features a group of teenagers entering an Asda supermarket and having their heads replaced by pumpkins. Other customers and Asda staff are also shown costumed and having pumpkin heads.
At the end of the video, the voiceover urges viewers to “Get the Asda Price Feeling this Halloween”.
The soundtrack is You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) by Dead Or Alive.
The retailer’s Halloween offering includes a wide range of products, from spooky decorations and pumpkins, to party food and drinks, and even themed accessories for pets. Asda is also providing visitors on its website with Halloween themed recipes, such as Day of the Dead muffin skulls, spider biscuits, spine-chilling punch, and sticky toffee apples.
