The online dating service Match.com has launched a new campaign in the UK, advertising its innovative new offer, which implies giving away three hours of free babysitting to its new and existing single parent subscribers.
The 30-second spot, titled “Relax on your date, Match has you covered!”, features a single mother and her little daughter getting ready for a date. While the woman choses an outfit, the girl lays the table and is looking through the window as if she’s waiting for someone to arrive. Soon, a knock on their door makes the kid jump out of the couch and open it with enthusiasm. It turns out it’s a friendly babysitter sent by the dating service so that her mom could go out and have a lovely evening in the company of her date.
“With Match, get three hours of free babysitting with every subscription,” the voiceover says at the end of the advert, which is scored by Brenda Lee’s 1959 song “Sweet Nothin’s”, from her seventh studio album, “Brenda, That’s All”.
Match’s initiative of giving away free hours of babysitting was based on the results of a research that has shown that 45% of single parents never go on dates and 35% admit they’ve not been on a date in the past year. Eager to help single parents to get back into the dating game, the dating service has partnered with the online childcare platform Yoopies to offer £30 (average 3 hours of babysitting) for use on Yoopies.co.uk to Match subscribers with children. The offer, available from 03/07/2018 to 30/09/2018, can be used only once and not in conjunction with any other offer or promotion on Yoopies.co.uk.
