McDonald’s UK runs a new advert, promoting this time its breakfast range, highlighting that “Some mornings just call for McDonald’s”.
The 30-second spot features two groups of young women leaving a friend’s house the morning after her wedding party. They load their baggage in the trunk of two different cars and hit the road. While the occupants of one of the cars are all energetic and playfull, the ones sitting in the backseat of the second car are sleepy. This changes when one of the friends has the idea to order breakfast at the McDonald’s Drive Thru they’re passing by. They soon all become wide awake, willing to enjoy as soon as the possible their meal, which includes Sausage & Egg Muffin, Breakfast Wrap, and more.
The song used in the advert is the 1966 single “Get Ready” by The Temptations, from their fourth studio album, “Gettin’ Ready”. The song was covered by The Supremes, on their 1966 album “The Supremes A’ Go-Go”, by The Miracles in 1970, by Ella Fitzgerald in 1969, by Australian singer Carol Hitchcock in 1987, and by Nancy Sinatra, on her 1999 album “How Does It Feel?”.
