Bank of New Zealand Siblings Sharing Bedroom Commercial Song

“At BNZ, we’re here to help New Zealanders achieve great things that come from being good with money – whether that great thing is a first home, next home, or anything else.” this is the idea behind the latest spot from Bank Of New Zealand.

The 60-second commercial, created by Colenso BBDO and building on the spirit of the bank’s “What Ella Wants” spot, released earlier this year, features a boy named Jasper and his little sister, Willa (played by young actors Ben and Zita), as they deal with daily challenges occurring due to the fact that they share a room. Thus, the two siblings are seen playing together, fighting, but also bonding and becoming closer and closer. When a big change occurs in their life – moving house – and they get to have their own room, it turns out their shared memories bring them close one more time.

“Bank of new homes. Bank of new beginnings. Bank of New Zealand.” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial, which is scored by Johnny Richardson’s single “What Makes the World go Around?”.

The spot runs across TV, online, in cinemas and will also feature in branches and on outdoor nationally.

“Banking can be seen as very rational, but we know it’s interwoven into many of our biggest life moments. This story taps into the emotions that these moments have, through the eyes of Jasper and Willa,” Briar Rowe, head of brand at BNZ, said in a press statement.
