Ford’s “Overdubs” ad campaign continues with a new commercial, starring the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as they try to settle an argument between Goldar and Scorpina.
The 60-second spot starts with the two villains fighting over their EcoBoost engines and asking each other to bow.
“Bow to the brilliant power in the 1.5l EcoBoost engine of my Ford Escape, Scorpina!”, asks Goldar.
“Silly ape! Bow to the ferocity of my 2.0 l EcoBoost engine!”, shouts Scorpina in response.
The Power Rangers show up, saying they were afraid this would happen. “Zordon, we’ve got a monster argument to settle”, says the White Ranger, who is responded that “each EcoBoost engine is smart in its own way”. “Goldar’s 1.5l EcoBoost engine is more fuel-efficient, while Scorpina’s 2.0l EcoBoost engine packs more horsepower.”, specifies Zordon.
“Ha! He’s going to need fuel-efficiency with his new golden makeover.”, says the White Ranger.
Zordon advises the Rangers to distract the two villains from these differences with “an amazing feature their vehicles have in common, like available SYNC3, featuring next-generation voice-activated technology”.
“Copy that, Zordon!”, comes the Rangers’ answer, who then shout “Unleash the power of Escape!”.
The “Overdubs” ad campaign includes also spots featuring Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z.
