Super-premium bourbon and Tennessee whiskey maker Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey has released a new commercial.
Set to the track “My Sugar Baby” by legendary Motown writer and producer Frank Wilson, who is also the father of Fawn Weaver, Uncle Nearest CEO and Founder, the ad features a diverse cast of real workers at the Nearest Green Distillery having fun as a family while making award-winning whiskey. The employees are shown dancing as they work during the bottling process.
“This is how we roll at the Nearest Green Distillery. You can taste the love in every drop,” Emmy Award-winning actor and Uncle Nearest investor Jeffrey Wright says in voiceover throughout the 30-second spot, adding the tagline “Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey”.
The commercial, directed by Nashville-based filmmaker David Poag and produced by Steve Lamar of Lamar Brothers, began airing August 16 across the US via cable networks, and streaming platforms.
“My father never released a song, choosing to focus on writing and becoming one of the top producers in the nation, but he recorded a couple of songs that made it into the vault. We had no idea this song existed until two weeks before we filmed, but once it was discovered, I knew hands down it needed to be the backdrop for our next commercial,” Weaver said in a press statement.
