Lexus UX Self-Charging Hybrid Advert

Lexus showcases the first-ever Lexus UX compact SUV and self-charging hybrid in a new ad, that encourages people to keep seeking new horizons.

“New lasts an instant, but the feeling never fades,” the voiceover says at the beginning of the 30-second spot, which features South Africa-based photographer and visual artist Elsa Bleda as she drives the all-new UX compact SUV and takes photos in different places. “The first-ever Lexus UX compact SUV and self-charging hybrid. Keep seeking new horizons,” the voiceover adds at the end of the ad, which is set to the tune of the 2012 hit single “In My Mind” by the Australian house music producer and DJ Ivan Gough and the house music duo Feenixpawl, featuring the vocals of the indie pop musician Georgi Kay.

According to the automaker, the new UX hybrid “takes a brave new approach to SUV thinking” by featuring a “daring front end” with its dramatic Lexus signature grille, a sporty silhouette and bold rear design. The vehicle offers “class-leading fuel efficiency combined with a highly responsive driving experience” thanks to the brand’s fourth generation Lexus Self-Charging Hybrid, producing 184 DIN hp with a 0-62 mph time of 8.5 seconds. In terms of safety, it is equipped with the latest Lexus Safety System+, which comprises advanced technologies that help prevent three of the most common accident types – rear-end collisions, lane departures and collisions involving pedestrians. The interior boasts smooth leather seats that use a Calculated Art perforation pattern and the art of traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching, an optional 10.3-inch multimedia screen, touchpad, and split-screen capability, Qi-compatible wireless charger.

The UX Hybrid range, with prices starting from £29,905, includes the UX 250h, which seamlessly combines an advanced 2.0-litre petrol engine with a high output electric motor, the UX, the F Sport, and the Takumi.
