Chewy continues its “Pets Aren’t Just Pets, They’re More” campaign with a new installment, promoting the company’s Autoship service, which lets you shop your pets’ favorites and set a schedule for future deliveries.
Titled “Inheritance”, the spot features a deceased man’s children and pet, a cat called Mr. Marbles, listening a woman as she reads his will. They thus find out that the company goes to the firstborn, Audrey, the model train set is entrusted to Todd, and Mr. Marbles will receive recurring deliveries for all of his needs and perpetuity thanks to Autoship from Chewy. At this point, Mr. Marbles says he always loved that old man. It soon turns out that the old man has also left his summer house to Mr. Marbles, which is shocking news for the old man’s children. “This doesn’t make logistical sense,” Todd says, upset that he only got the model train set.
At the end of the commercial, the voiceover declares that “pets arent’s just pets, they’re more” and urges viewers to save more on what their pets love and never run out with Autoship from Chewy.
The campaign includes other two spots showing how pet parents see their pets as much more. One of them features Bailey, a golden retriever as a couple’s favorite child, and another spot features a dog as his owner’s best friend, who says he’s sorry for having broken a vase with his tail when a Chewy box arrived.
“Our relationships with our pets are some of the most meaningful, genuine bonds we create throughout life’s highs and lows,” said Orlena Yeung, VP of Brand Marketing at Chewy. “Our customers view their pets as much more than pets, and this campaign brings that to life in a playful, entertaining and absolutely relatable way,” Yeung also said.
