Allstate has brought financial abuse out of the shadows with a short film titled “America’s Largest Prison Break”, featuring a woman who manages to escape her abusive relationship by saving money inside tampon applicators.
The video, inspired by a true life-story and part of the #FreeToWalk campaign, aims to empower women that become victims of domestic violence to gain access to resources they need to break free from the prison their home has become and to rebuild their lives.
The message at the end is that “the #1 reason domestic violence victims can’t “just leave” is because they’re being abused financially.” and continues with a quest for donations for the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse: “Help fund the largest prison break in America. Donate at purplepurse.com.”
