Xbox has released the trailer for NBA 2K19: The Way Back, an all-new MyCareer story.
The trailer opens with a young basketball player named AI in the Shanghai Arena during a game and moves back in the US, where he is informed that the Los Angeles Lakers select. He starts playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA G League, but one of his mates doesn’t hesitate to show his hostility and tell him right into his face “It’s my team, it’s never going to be yours.” “You never cared about anyone but yourself, AI, and until you do this is exactly as far as you’ll go,” he is told in one of the scenes, before he urges his teammates to stop talking and start playing in order to see who scores the most points one night. “You can’t learn, it’s just in you, a piece of your soul,” his mate played by Anthony Mackie tells him.
The cast also includes Michael Rapaport, Aldis Hodge, Rob Huebel, Blake Jenner, Ricky Whittle, Mo McRae, and Ginger Gonzaga.
The song used in the trailer is the 2018 track “We Up So High” by Aaron Levy, Dumi Maraire, Raphael Lake & Aaron Levy.
The NBA2K19 Prelude will be available for download starting August 31.
